Those cars ruined the photo... :(

There are a lot of teahouses in the VI. district, dear readers, so do not blame me for writing reviews mostly from this area. I live close, too, yes, but that is only a secondary aspect! (Not.)

This week, I visited Red Lion Teahouse, one of my favorites. This teahouse actually has two parts with different entrances; however, I went into only one of them. The waiters gave me weird looks for taking photos to begin with, so I did not want any more trouble.
You can approach Red Lion easily, either by tram (4/6) or metro (1). Jókai tér is just an extension to Jókai street, and all you have to do to get there is to walk one or two minutes from Oktogon. Easy peasy!

As I mentioned earlier, this teahouse has two separate entrances which leave to two different room. The one on the left is the smaller one; it is quite crowded with tables and a small counter, but nonetheless comfortable. You can do everything here that you can in the gallery area which you can approach from the right entrance. Maybe except smoking a water pipe or oxygen machine.

The right entrance first leads to the merchandise shop where you can buy books, teas, tea sets, and much more. From there, stairs lead up to the teahouse section, which has one big main hall for those who want to sit on actual chairs - this section is quite roomy, not as crowded as the other part of the teahouse - and three separe sections (, which means somewhat separated rooms) with low tables and cushions to sit on. The counter is right next to the stairs.

The decoration of the whole place is very simple, yet effective - some heavy curtains here and cozy lamps there. The warm, darker colors make you relaxed and a bit drowsy, so be aware, especially if you decide to sit in a separe! The two smaller separated rooms have cushions for customers to sit on, but the biggest one offers bean bags. Huge, comfortable bean bags, on which you will fall asleep within half an hour.
You have to take off your shoes and put them in the shoe-rack right before you enter; there is also one hanger, which is way too small to hang everyone's coat on it.

The menu is falling apart; mine shred two pages the moment I put my hands on it. At least there's a nice variety of teas in it, in logical, non-repeating sections. There are black, white, green, oolong, mate, fruit, rooibos, wellness, "regenerating", and herb teas, ranging between 640 and 880 forints. You can flavor your choice of blend with white sugar, which is there on every table by default, rock candy, cane sugar, milk, cream, lemon juice, and three kinds of honey.
Other beverages include coffees (from 330 to 640 forints), coffee cocktails (from 410 to 530 forints), hot chocolate, soft drinks, and oxygen water (250 forints per two deciliters). If you want a bite to eat, you can order made-to order sandwiches (from 490 to 510 forints), gyros, fried cheese, fried chicken breast, cakes (from 420 to 520 forints, soufflé, marlenka, muffins, cookies, or dried fruits. Moreover, you can order chocolate fondue for 1030 forints!
And guess what - Red Lion is the first teahouse I have been to that has its menu in English! Online, at least.

This teahouse has some pretty unique services, too. First of all, you can have your own tea party anywhere hosted by Red Lion if the events has minimum 50 and maximum 1000 guests. The other feature is the teahouse being an oxygen bar, too. This means that you can use a special oxygen concentrator for 1500 forints per 20 minutes; it will make you feel high, I suppose.
